Ali and Ramazan series is based on the incidents taking places in Perihan Mağden’s eponymous book and various headlines from the newspapers published in December 1992. The first section of the two part series incidents an abstract expression of the story of Ali and Ramazan. It re-describes various parts of the book over the places in which the events occur. While theses places witness the events, they emphasize the sense of incompleteness felt across the entirety of the story.
The second section is comprised of the documentation of the Ali and Ramazan incidents. The newspaper clippings from December 1992 document the incident. It brings together, in an ironic manner, Ramazan’s mug shot taken at the police station and the composition of the Classical Turkish musician Ramazan killed.
