Öztekin performs his maneuvers, aware of the possibilities of painting and the nature of the medium of painting. With the All We Know Is Falling series, in which pieces of aluminum plates used on the roofs of buildings are used as surfaces to hold the paper in place, the artist instrumentalizes the temporariness of paper as a material. The aluminum residues, which were used to protect unknown buildings from external factors to some extent, host their own contrasts with sharp corners and wavy forms. Using the taut stasis of the material, Öztekin actually causes both materials to behave outside of their nature by applying his paper works to these surface-objects.
