Furkan Öztekin reconsiders the phenomenon of space on the axis of silence, emptiness, time, border and rhythm in his productions, in which he uses paper as a material. He evaluates the ways of thinking and the fragile relations that can be established between memory and space, which have been important in the history of LGBTI+ resistance. The installation titled ‘Flow’, which consists of seven pieces of paper collage accompanies the artist’s video work ‘Street Cleaning’. In the installation there are sections taken according to the flow form of water from the photos of the cleaning works carried out by the municipality on the same street, on the real estate photos of the rental houses on Ülker Street.

Furkan Öztekin, malzeme olarak kâğıt kullandığı üretimlerinde, mekân olgusunu sessizlik, boşluk, zaman, sınır ve ritim ekseninde yeniden ele alıyor. Savunduğu düşünce biçimlerini ve içinde bulunduğu alanı LGBTİ+ direniş tarihinde önemli olmuş mekanların bellekle mekan arasında kurulabilecek kırılgan ilişkileri üzerinden değerlendiriyor. Sanatçının ‘Sokak Temizliği’ adlı video çalışmasına eşlik eden yedi parça kâğıt kolajdan oluşan ‘Akış’ isimli duvar yerleştirmesinde, Ülker Sokak’taki kiralık evlere ait emlak fotoğrafların üzerinde belediyenin aynı sokakta gerçekleştirdiği temizlik çalışmalarına ait fotoğraflardan suyun akış formuna göre aldığı kesitler yer alıyor.
