Four Seasons In May is a collaborative project with Ceyhan Fırat. Ceyhan is a prolific figure who has been involved with art and who lived at Ülker Street during the 1990s. A performing arts aficionado and a poet, they played in Kutluğ Ataman’s film Never My Soul! (2001) and published their first book titled Bacak Böcek Oyunu [A Game of Legs] in 1996. They moved to Switzerland following the mass exodus from Ülker Street.

As I am in the preparation stages of my solo exhibition precisely during this period, I come up with the idea of a collaboration with Ceyhan and express my desire to share one of the four walls of the exhibition with them. They complete a series of recordings performing the poems I have selected from the books A Game of Legs by Ceyhan Fırat and Four Seasons in May by Mehmet Ağar and Yolanda De M. Prelorenzo for the exhibition. The nine poems, narrated in Ceyhan’s weary yet strong voice, fill the gallery space through three headphones.*
